What work does Phuket Pro Painters take, and what work does it not take?
The work we take falls into two groups. The first is residential: detached houses, townhouses, villas and condo units. Surface preparation is part of the painting work. It consists of washing and cleaning, scraping loose old paint, sanding, filling small holes and hairline surface marks, and priming.
We do not take on waterproofing, structural crack repair or leak repair work. We say this at the outset, because those problems have to be fixed by a specialist before painting. Painting over them without dealing with the cause makes the customer pay twice.

How does Phuket Pro Painters work?
Our way of working has four steps: a site survey and measurement, a written quotation, surface preparation and painting, and an inspection with the customer before handover. Every job goes through the four steps, small or large. Each step is described on the page about how we work, from survey to handover.
We hold to three principles:
- A price the customer can follow. The price comes from the area in square metres and the factors explained on the website. Items charged separately, such as surface preparation and scaffolding, have their own lines.
- Preparation before paint. A paint job that lasts starts with a surface that is clean, dry and sound. We do not skip washing, scraping, sanding, filling and priming.
- Straight talk when a job is not for a painter. If a wall has a moisture or structural problem, we tell the customer first. We do not paint over the problem to get the job finished.
Why does painting in Phuket call for painters who know the island?
Phuket is hot and humid all year, with strong sun, heavy rain during the south-west monsoon from roughly May to October, and salt-laden sea air on homes near the coast. In these conditions exterior paint fades and chalks quickly, metalwork rusts easily, and walls that get little sun grow algae. Exterior work has to be planned around the season and the drying time of the paint.
The buildings on the island are varied too. There are old shophouses in Phuket Town, housing estates in Kathu and Thalang, hillside villas and beachfront resorts.
