Who is the data controller?

Phuket Pro Painters is the data controller for the personal data collected through this website. This privacy policy has been prepared under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019), often called the PDPA. The policy applies to information that customers provide through the quotation request form and the price calculator, and to use of the website.

What personal data does Phuket Pro Painters collect?

Phuket Pro Painters collects only the data that a customer types in and sends through the quotation request form:

  • name;
  • phone number;
  • service area or location of the job;
  • type of work;
  • the job details the customer writes;
  • site photographs, which are optional, so the customer may attach them or not;
  • the values entered in the calculator, such as area, type of work, hiring option, surface condition, height and difficulty, when the customer chooses to send the calculator result with the form.

Using the calculator without sending the form does not require a name or a phone number. Customers should not send information unrelated to the painting job, such as national identification numbers, passport numbers or financial details, through the form.

What is the personal data used for?

Phuket Pro Painters uses the data from the form for two purposes:

  1. To contact the customer, ask for further details and arrange a site survey.
  2. To prepare a quotation for the work the customer has asked about.

Processing data for these two purposes is done at the customer's request, as a step before entering into a contract. We do not use data from the form to send advertising that the customer has not asked for, and we do not sell personal data to anyone.

How does the website use cookies?

The website uses two kinds of cookies. The first kind is necessary for the website to work, for example remembering the language selected and the cookie choice made. The second kind is analytics cookies, which are used to view overall visitor statistics in order to improve the website. Analytics cookies run only when the visitor has given consent through the cookie banner. A visitor can decline or withdraw consent and still use the website normally.

Who is personal data disclosed to?

Personal data is used within the Phuket Pro Painters team by the people responsible for contacting customers and preparing quotations. The data is stored on the systems of the technical service providers that the website needs in order to operate, such as hosting and database providers, which process the data only on our instructions. We may disclose data where the law requires it or where a competent authority orders it.

When a customer chooses to get in touch by WhatsApp, the messages and photographs sent pass through the systems of the provider of that application, which has its own privacy policy.

How long does Phuket Pro Painters keep the data?

Phuket Pro Painters keeps personal data for as long as the purposes of collection require. That means throughout the period of contact and quotation, and afterwards for as long as is necessary for carrying out the work, looking after the job once it has been handed over, and complying with the law. When the data is no longer needed, we delete it or make it impossible to identify the person from it.

How does Phuket Pro Painters keep the data secure?

We use appropriate measures to prevent unauthorised access to, use of or disclosure of personal data. Examples are an encrypted connection to the website and limiting access to the data to the people who need it for the job.

What rights do data subjects have under the Personal Data Protection Act?

A data subject has the following rights under the Personal Data Protection Act, subject to the conditions the law sets:

  • the right to access the data and to obtain a copy of it;
  • the right to have the data corrected so that it is accurate and up to date;
  • the right to have the data deleted, destroyed or made non-identifying;
  • the right to restrict use of the data;
  • the right to object to the collection, use or disclosure of the data;
  • the right to have the data transferred to another data controller;
  • the right to withdraw consent already given, such as consent to analytics cookies;
  • the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Personal Data Protection Committee.

How do I contact Phuket Pro Painters about personal data?

A data subject who wishes to exercise a right, or who has a question about this privacy policy, can contact Phuket Pro Painters by phone on 063-004-0115. We act on requests within the period the law sets. General contact channels are on the page to contact Phuket Pro Painters.

Can this policy change?

Phuket Pro Painters may update the privacy policy when the way data is collected or used changes. The latest version is always published on this page.
